What is the Alpha Course?
The Alpha Course consists of 10 weekly evening sessions exploring the basics of Christian faith and has been described as “an opportunity to explore the meaning of life”. The first Alpha Course evening is an introductory evening to the Course and includes refreshments with tea / coffee. Each weekly session looks at a different question around faith and is designed to promote authentic and open discussion.
We will also be running an Alpha Youth discussion groups for students aged 11 - 13yrs (Pre-teens) and then 14 - 18yrs (New Life Students)

Social Start
We start an Alpha evening with a time to just sit and chat to other people on the Course over a cup of coffee/tea with some treats. We have found that the social time upfront helps set a festive tone for the Alpha evenings!
Alpha Film Series Episode
After the social start, a 25-30 minute Alpha Film Series episode on a specific topic will be presented. The sessions explore the big topics around faith and the basics of Christianity. These include "Who is Jesus?", "How can we have faith?", "Why and how do I pray?" and "How does God guide us?".
Discussion Groups
Discussion time presents an opportunity to chat about your thoughts and ideas on the evening's topic with about 12 people in each discussion group. There's no obligation to say anything and there's nothing you can't say (seriously!). This is an opportunity to hear from others and add your own perspectives in an honest, respectful and open environment.
To date it is estimated that over 30 million people worldwide have done the Alpha Course.
